Follow BCS Robotics through each competition season, from our first tournaments to what's ahead.
In the first season since BCS Robotics was founded, our school's three VEX IQ teams — 16158A, 16158B, and 16158M — turned in an outstanding 2025–2026 season, earning multiple honors across several regional tournaments and capping it off with strong results at the Maryland State Championship.
Each of the three teams competed in two qualifying tournaments this season. In the end, both 16158B and 16158M advanced to the Maryland State Championship — a remarkable achievement for a newly formed club.
At the Ridgely Robotics IQ Winter Carnival Tournament, Team 16158A stood out among 40 middle school teams and 8 elementary school teams to win the Judges Award — recognizing the team's outstanding perseverance, teamwork, and student-led design process.
Team 16158B won the Teamwork Champion Award at the Westminster Elementary tournament, earning its spot at the state championship. Meanwhile, Team 16158M went up against 48 teams at the Western Maryland "Mix and Match" 2026 tournament, finishing as runner-up and also advancing to states.
At the Maryland State Championship, 16158B and 16158M placed 5th in the elementary division and 3rd in the middle school division, respectively. 16158B also received the Maryland State Sportsmanship Award.
In their very first season, the students of BCS Robotics brought home the Judges Award, the Teamwork Champion Award, the Sportsmanship Award, and a top-5 state finish — an impressive showing built on curiosity, persistence, and collaboration. Thank you to all the coaches, mentors, and families whose hard work made this possible. We can't wait for an even more exciting season ahead!
